Stand outs from Los Angeles Times’ 2014 Taste LA Event on the Paramount backlot were the Mona Slider from Pono, Pommery’s Sparkling Raspberry wine and savory fresh fruit from Freshology. Go hungry and prepared to party.

Check listings for current participants. This massive tasting event is divided into themed +/- 4 hour segments. In between segments, vendors empty their booths and the next crew moves into the space. There are plenty of places to sit and reflect on the flavors. You’ll find shaded tables, fans to help beat the heat and spots to pause and ponder your palate.

You’ll also find demonstration stages, where top chefs share their secrets. The vibe is like a giant party with lots of friends you are meeting for the first time. The mood is celebratory and there are tastes to satisfy everyone in your tribe. You’ll taste simple faire, sample veggie and vegan plates, beef, beer, wine, desserts, fine and fancy cuisine as well as spirits, shots and champagne (ok, it’s sparkling wine, but champagne just sounded better).
