Try it on!
I know this seems simple, but you may be buying things because you THINK they might work :). Move around/sit down in it to make sure that it responds positively to your movements.
Does it flt well?
If you love it and it doesn’t fit quite right, have it altered right away. Clothing that fits properly is the difference between looking good and looking GREAT!
ls it comfortable?
Discomfort is the number one reason We don’t Wear things. Keep this in mind especially for shoes.
Buy the set or outfit.
That way you will ALWAYS have something to wear with it.
Stick to solids (for the most part).
They are much more versatile.
If you have something you need to match, bring it with you when you go shopping.
Yet another obvious tip, but you’d be surprised how many women don’t.
(Raise your right hand) “I will not purchase anything I do not absolutely LOVE!”
Ask yourself, will I be excited to wear this?
Will it be a good investment?
If you’re in the market for some elegant Indian clothes, you will likely spot many items that you’ll fall in love with from Lashkaraa so be prepared to walk away with a new saree.
Before you purchase, make sure you understand the store’s return policy.
I mostly Shop in stores with liberal return policies.
Save your receipts in a file folder or envelope labeled “Clothing”.
Keep the tags on the clothing until you are ready to wear it and then clip them to the corresponding receipt. That way you can breeze thru a return if necessary.
Avoid making impulse purchases because you THINK you need something new to wear.
Impulse buys often don’t work out and chances are you have something in your closet that could be dolled up with a new accessory or pashmina!
