Gluten Free Appetizer Recipes, Interview, How-to Video
The EncinoMom Team visited the teaching kitchen at Studio City’s, CookLA where we cooked up and taste tasted recipes from Chef Liz Alexanian’s Gluten Free Sides and Appetizers menu using products from Udi’s Gluten Free. First, we caught up with Suzanne Wolke from Udi’s who showed us how to make GF cinnamon pita chips and gave us some straight talk about the whys and wherefores of being Gluten Free.
Next we got a lesson from Chef Liz and made up a batch of Roasted Grapes and Goat Cheese Canapés with Spiced Pecans. Watch the video to get the flow of the recipe and see how I was able to avert disaster with the help of Chefs Liz and Adam! What a great place to work. They’ve got a huge teaching kitchen that’s clean and well organized so you can find what you’re looking for once you know what you’re doing. There was plenty of assistance and gentle guidance without hovering or panic.
The Canapés were delicious! We’ve posted links below and more of our favorite Gluten Free recipes from Chef Liz (click here for her amazing stuffing recipe) using Udi’s products. This episode of California Living is sponsored by the Brain Balance Achievement Center in Encino. At Brain Balance, we learned that Gluten Free living is recommended while students work with their individual programs designed to connect every child with success.
Not only did we explore what it means to be Gluten Free and why, but we picked up some great cooking skills, from Chef Liz AND did we mention? We got to taste test everything! (It bears repeating.) Thanks to Udi’s for getting us all together for this eye opening (and palate tingling) event, thanks to Chef Liz for creating these truly tasty GF recipes to help keep the Gluten Free happy and healthy this holiday season and special thanks to Brain Balance Achievement Centers for their support of Gluten Free living.Photo by: Susan Goldman Toasted Pistachio-Ceese Arancini recipe (This was my personal favorite!)
