Everalbum Review

With a vast photo collection that includes both editorial photography for EncinoMom.com and my personal snapshots, I am always looking for a better solution to iPhoto. While I’m a diehard Apple fan, I still have the same problems organizing my photos that I’ve had since the release of the great, great, grandfather of iPhoto, iTools.

Enter Everalbum. Test driving this free offering from the Apple Store as a possible solution, the app proved to be the perfect way to organize and access my vast image library, and I found the extra bells and whistles more useful than I first imagined.Everalbum photo organization and enhancement app

It’s not obvious how it does so, but I almost immediately found it easier to find my photos and much more gratifying to access the albums and animated slideshows that the app created automatically from my Camera Roll and iPhoto Library.

I gave Everalbum permission to download and organize photos from my Facebook and Picasa accounts. It can even be commanded to retrieve images in which you are tagged on your family or friends’ pages. There’s a useful “Timeline” button that organizes your photos in chronological order and separates the Everalbum-created flipbooks for easy access. I was surprised how useful it was to find my history of online images populating the albums created by Everalbum and the flipbooks made some great content for my blog and Social Media Pages.

Photo Editor And Filter Everalbum has editing tools similar to those of iPhoto along with Instagram-style filters and a drawing tool. It also has other goodies like stickers and frames, available as in-app purchases. Fortunately, you never feel solicited by the in-app purchases like you do with some mobile apps. The free version gives you a bounty of tools with which you can manipulate your images, enough to warrant the watermark that it applies as its saves the edited image. There are subscription versions available as well.

Videos, Flipbooks And Throwbacks A lot of the features that I read about in the press release seemed fanciful at best, but after trying them out, I felt otherwise.

  1. Everalbum automatically creates videos from your albums. This may seem inconsequential, but some of the results have provided great content for social media. The ability to save these little slideshow videos to your device’s camera roll is really handy.

  2. The app also automatically generates animated flipbooks from sequential photos within the album. Another surprising useful whizbang that provides me with an entertaining way to display my content or personal images.

  3. #throwback. As mentioned earlier, Everalbum collects all of your images from Social Media, and it also sends you a notification (if you request it to do so) with a throwback image from a year ago.

For me, Everalbum is a great supplement to iPhoto. It provide an easier way to find my images and surprisingly useful bells and whistles as mentioned above. You can download the app from iTunes or Everalbum.com.
