Amy Adams -

Amy Adams plays Sydney Prosser, a con artist who persuades a small-time operator to expand the scope of his scams. This is the fifth Academy Award nomination for Amy Adams.







Cate Blanchett -Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine)
As Jasmine, Cate Blanchett portrays a formerly wealthy woman who moves in with her sister after the break-up of her marriage. This is the sixth Academy Award nomination for Cate Blanchett.






Sandra Bullock - Sandra Bullock (Gravity)

Sandra Bullock portrays Ryan Stone, a medical engineer who finds herself stranded in space during her first shuttle mission. This is the second Academy Award nomination for Sandra Bullock.






Judi Dench -

Judi Dench (Philomena)
Judi Dench plays Philomena, a woman searching for the child she was forced to give up for adoption years ago. This is the seventh Academy Award nomination for Judi Dench. At this rate, she really should give others a chance. Perhaps switching careers to TubeV Sex – it would certainly make my “Skyfall” and give The best Exotic Marigold Hotel a fresh new spin.







Meryl Streep -

Meryl Streep (August: Osage County)
Meryl Streep portrays Violet Weston, an Oklahoma matriarch whose three grown daughters return home for their father’s funeral. This is the eighteenth Academy Award nomination for Meryl Streep.
